Independent village shop
Keep everyday groceries available in the village: staffed in the morning, self-service in the evening and at weekends. You look after range and stock, not the till.
Company shop
Cheese dairy, butcher, brewery or chocolatier: sell at the counter when someone is there, and self-service while everyone is in production.

You decide for each checkout how it works, and you can change it later without switching systems. Every checkout arrives preconfigured, you just plug it in.
Staffed checkout
You or your team take payment at the counter. PIN sign-in, cash with a cash drawer, card and TWINT, end-of-day closing and sales per cashier. Sunmi D3 mini from CHF 790.
Self-checkout
Your customers scan and pay on their own, also in the evening and at weekends. Compact as the K2 mini or as the Flex 3 with a 22″ display.

Staffed during the day, self-service in the evening, or both side by side. Same products, same stock, one dashboard for every checkout.

What you want to know before you start
How much does a checkout cost?
The Sunmi D3 mini staffed checkout costs CHF 790.–, the Sunmi K2 mini self-checkout CHF 1’490.– one-time. For the self-checkout, a payment terminal for card and TWINT and the cabling come on top. The subscription starts at CHF 99.– per month with the first checkout, each additional one costs CHF 59.– per month. The cost estimate shows what this adds up to for your shop. All prices excl. VAT.
Can I also work the till myself with scango.ch?
Yes. The Sunmi D3 mini is a staffed checkout for the counter. You and your team sign in with a PIN, and every sale is assigned to that person. Customers pay in cash with change or by card and TWINT, and they see every item on their display. In the evening you do the end-of-day closing, and in the dashboard you see the sales per cashier.
Can I combine a staffed checkout and a self-checkout?
Yes. Both checkouts use the same products, the same stock and the same dashboard. You can also start with the staffed checkout only and add self-service later.
Which costs come on top?
Your card acquirer’s transaction fees, the internet connection, and shop fitting and furniture. Optionally the scale (CHF 49.– per month and store) and the Stellard Age age check (CHF 29.– per month and ID scanner).
How do my customers pay?
By card or TWINT at the payment terminal next to the checkout. A cash button is available on request.
What happens in an emergency or offline?
At the staffed checkout you keep selling for cash, even without internet; the sales appear in the dashboard as soon as the checkout is back online. At the self-checkout, that is what the optional cash button is for: sales do not stop, even if card payment is unavailable for a while.
Can I sell goods by weight and alcohol?
Yes. A scale connects to the checkout and prices goods by weight. Alcohol and tobacco are secured by the Stellard Age ID check.
Is scango.ch a POS system for restaurants?
For selling over the counter, such as coffee, cake or take-away from the display case, yes. We do not offer table service or kitchen tickets.
I already have a POS. How do I switch?
Export your items from your current POS as a CSV or Excel file. At the start we import and check them for you. Guides for SumUp, Lightspeed, Shopify POS, ready2order and other systems are under “Switching POS”.
How much work is the setup?
Your checkout arrives preconfigured – you only plug it in and switch it on. If you have questions, we help and train your team.
