Village, farm and beverage stores stay open longer without extra staff: customers scan, weigh and pay themselves by card or TWINT – instead of an honesty box. Age verification secures alcohol and tobacco.
With scango.ch a complete self-checkout station starts at CHF 2’570 one-time: Sunmi K2 mini kiosk (CHF 1’490), PayTec payment terminal for card and TWINT (CHF 1’060) and Swiss cabling (CHF 20). The subscription starts at CHF 99 per month; on the Retail plan (CHF 179) each additional kiosk costs CHF 59 per month. All prices excl. VAT.
At a staff cost of CHF 32 per hour, about 6 freed staff hours per month already cover the Retail plan. Everything beyond that pays off the hardware. How fast depends on footfall, self-checkout share and opening hours – exactly what the calculator works out.
The peak hour decides. As a rule of thumb about 15 % of daily transactions fall into the busiest hour, and one kiosk handles about 20 small to medium baskets per hour. The calculator recommends a number as soon as you enter your footfall.
Yes. Small stores mainly benefit from longer opening hours without extra staff and from secure card payment instead of an honesty box. The compact Sunmi K2 mini fits on any counter, and the subscription starts with one kiosk.
Not completely. Self-checkout handles scanning and payment, staff take care of advice, restocking and supervision. That is why the calculator deducts daily supervision time per store from the savings.
VAT, card acquirer transaction fees, internet connection and store fit-out are not included. For a binding quote for your configuration you can request an offer at any time.
