scango.ch has an MCP server. Through it you connect your AI assistant, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Grok, to the data of your stores and ask in your own words about sales, stock or open orders. You bring the assistant, scango.ch provides the secure connection. Your roles apply just as in the dashboard.

Why it matters

Your assistant knows your stores

  • Ask instead of clicking reports together

    “How did Wattwil do last week compared with last year?” Your assistant fetches the figures from scango.ch and sums them up.

  • Your permissions, no more

    The assistant works on your behalf. What you can’t do in the dashboard, it can’t do either.

  • You decide the access

    Read only for analysis, or read and change for maintenance. You can disconnect at any time.

How it works

Connected in four steps

    Add the connector

    In your AI assistant, add a custom connector with the address https://api.scango.ch/mcp, in Claude under Settings › Connectors, in ChatGPT under Plugins, in Grok under grok.com/connectors.

    Sign in to scango.ch

    The assistant opens the scango.ch sign-in. You sign in with your usual account.

  3. 3

    Choose the access

    “Read only” or “Read and change”. The page shows which app is connecting and where the confirmation goes back to.

    Ask

    scango.ch is available in every chat. The assistant picks the data it needs for your question.

What the assistant may do

Read for analysis, change for maintenance

Every tool of the MCP server calls the same function as the dashboard. Roles, store restrictions and checks therefore apply exactly the same way.

  • Read only: view and analyse products, stock, purchases, statistics, settlements, payouts, discount codes and gift cards.
  • Read and change: also create and change products, stock levels, supplier orders, categories, suppliers, discount codes and gift cards.
  • Never through the AI connection: members, roles, API keys, subscription and invoices.
  • Traceable: every change appears in the audit log with your name and the app it came through, e.g. “via Claude” or “via ChatGPT”.

What you can ask your assistant

  • “Show me last month’s sales of all stores compared with the previous year.”
  • “Which products are below minimum stock? Create an order for the drinks.”
  • “Raise the price of all products from supplier Muster by 5 centimes.”
  • “Which gift cards expire this month?”

Check the changes your assistant suggests before you confirm them. With “Read only”, it can’t change anything.

Good to know

Securely connected

The assistant never gets a password. You sign in to scango.ch and confirm the connection; the assistant then receives an access key for this connection only.

Under Profile › Connected apps you see every connection with its access and last use. “Disconnect” removes an app’s access within a minute. Unused connections expire after 30 days.

Does scango.ch offer an AI assistant?

No. scango.ch provides the connection, the MCP server. You use the assistant, such as Claude, ChatGPT or Grok, with your own account at its provider.

Which assistants work?

Any client that supports MCP with OAuth sign-in and allows custom connectors. The guide covers Claude (web, desktop, mobile), Claude Code, ChatGPT and Grok.

What do I need?

A scango.ch account on any plan and an AI assistant that allows custom MCP connectors. What the assistant sees depends on your plan and role; stock management, for example, comes with the Retail plan and up.

Can the assistant change something I don’t want?

Not with “Read only”; scango.ch then refuses every change. With “Read and change”, check the suggestions before you confirm them. Every change is in the audit log, so you can also see later what was changed.

Do my staff see more when they use an assistant?

No. Everyone connects their own account, and the assistant has exactly their role and stores. Someone who only sees certain stores in the dashboard only sees those through the assistant too.

What does the assistant’s provider see?

The assistant only receives the data it fetches from scango.ch for your question. How the provider processes it is governed by the terms of your account there.
