Giftcards

Gift cards are a great way for your customers, friends and family to shop at your store with a gift.

To add a new gift card, click on the "Add gift card" button.

Overview

The gift card overview displays a list of all existing gift cards, including the following information:

  • Starting value: The original value of the gift card.
  • Status: The current status of the gift card: the expiration date is highlighted in green until it is reached, after which it is highlighted in red (the gift card can no longer be used). Or the status Canceled is displayed.
  • Description: A short description of the gift card you have stored.
  • Current value: The remaining value of the gift card.
  • Transactions: A list of transactions that have been made with the gift card.

Use the search options in the header to display a specific gift card or a range of gift card values.

Add gift card

Steps to add a new gift card

  1. Click on "Add gift card".
  2. Fill in the following fields:
    • Description: Enter a description for the gift card (e.g. "Gift card for ...").
    • Amount: Enter the amount for the gift card in CHF. You can also leave the amount open if you would like to pre-produce gift cards and, for example, have the customer top them up at the till.
    • Valid until: Select the date until which the gift card is valid.
  3. Click on "Create gift card" to create the gift card.

Back to gift cards

To return to the gift card overview, click on "Back to gift cards". There you can manage all the gift cards you have created and edit or delete them as required.

Add multiple gift cards

This function can be used to create a desired number of gift cards with an individual design (predefined amounts, no amount to top up yourself, etc.) at the same time.

The cards or corresponding QR codes can be downloaded directly after creation as a collective file in .csv and as image files of the QR codes for further processing.

Display gift cards

Displaying a gift card

To view the details of a gift card, click on the gift card ID (e.g. #dG5CAb41IAYjcSxNSUW9). The following information will be displayed:

  • Created on: The creation date of the gift card (e.g. "Thursday, April 6, 2023, 10:24").
  • Expiration date: The expiry date of the gift card. This can be changed here.

Below this you will find a list of the transactions that have taken place on the gift card:

  • Transaction type: Load or debit gift card
  • New value: remaining value of the card after the transaction
  • Order ID: ID number of the purchase where the card was used.
  • Date: Date and time of the purchase when the card was used.

The initial value and current value of the card are shown below.

Value: The initial value and the current value of the gift card in CHF.

Customize gift card

To customize a gift card, click on "Edit". You have the following options:

  • Expiration date: Adjust the expiry date by entering it in the date field or selecting it via the calendar view.
  • Top up amount: Top up the value of the card manually by entering the amount in the "Amount to top up" field and confirm by clicking on the "Top up" button.

If you top up the amount manually, this will be recorded in the history of the gift card under transaction types. Use this function if, for example, you send a gift card to the customer on account or subsequently increase the amount on account.

Download QR code and PDF

To display and download the QR code for the gift card, click on "QR code". You can also download a printable PDF version of the gift card by clicking on "Download PDF".

You can then print the QR codes individually on cards of your choice and make them available to your customers for them to top up at your point of sale.
