How to get your new scango.ch self-service checkout up and running in 10 minutes:
Preparation
- Check that the checkout terminal (SUNMI K2 Mini or SUNMI K2 Retail) and the PayTec payment terminal have arrived undamaged. The appropriate power cables are included in the shipment.
- Place the devices in the desired location.
- For the SUNMI K2 Retail cash register, you will find a wall rail including additional physical installation instructions enclosed with the shipment.
- If you have selected the scango.ch mounting option for the PayTec terminal, first slide the PayTec device into the bezel before you start with the cabling. We recommend that you work provisionally with double-sided adhesive tape, for example, to position the bezel temporarily. This allows you to observe the position in daily use with your customers and change it if necessary without drilling permanent holes.
- Provide two operational Ethernet connections (Internet connection) and Ethernet cables that reach up to the devices.
- Check that your internet connection is activated. A stable internet connection with the lowest possible latency is necessary for smooth cash register operation.
1. put the checkout terminal into operation
- Plug the power supply and Ethernet cable (LAN) into the designated slots on the POS terminal and switch the POS terminal on and off using the power button:
K2 Mini: The power button is located on the right edge of the screen below halfway in the middle (at the USB input).

K2 Retail: The slots for power (2) and Ethernet cable/LAN (3) are located on the back at the bottom. Then open the bottom cover at the front by pressing on both sides (5) and flip the power switch to On (6).

- Click on the "scango.ch Kiosk" app on the cash register interface

- The checkout terminal automatically switches to sales mode and is ready for operation.
Note: The app is now in kiosk mode. Your customers cannot close the app on their own. This prevents tampering and misuse. To exit the app during operation to access the Android interface:
- Press and hold the on/off button (power button)
- Click on "Exit Kiosk"
- You received the code during onboarding

2. put the PayTec payment terminal into operation
- Plug the power (MBD plug) and Ethernet cable (RJ45) into the designated slots on the POS terminal.

- The device starts automatically as soon as it has power and configures itself successfully when the Internet connection is available.
3. make a test purchase
- Scan a product of your choice
- Tap "pay" on the checkout terminal: the screen on the checkout terminal changes automatically and the payment terminal is activated.
- Pay at the payment terminal with the payment method of your choice.
- The purchase is successfully completed at the checkout terminal (green screen).
- If necessary, scan the QR code displayed if you need a receipt.
Something doesn't work?
- Both devices are connected to the power supply.
- All cables are plugged in correctly (as indicated above).
- The internet connection is working (your modem, access via other device possible). Attention: If your network has a firewall or Internet access is otherwise restricted, check whether the checkout and payment terminal can be connected to the network.
- Please ensure the quality of your internet connection
Smooth operation of the checkout system requires at least the following parameters:
Bandwidth: min. 5 Mbps upload/download speed
Latency/Ping: max. 50 ms
