Connect PayTec terminal with cash register
How to connect your PayTec vending terminal with our scango.ch checkout terminal in just a few minutes.
Please note that at the start, or before shipping the hardware to you, we initially make this connection. This guide is for changes during operation.
Preparation
- PayTec payment terminal and scango.ch checkout terminal are connected to power and Internet, the scango.ch app on the checkout terminal is started.
- You have the “Access QR Code Checkout Screen” digitally or physically at hand. This code is located in the fact sheet you received from us at the beginning: Scan the “Access QR Code” at the checkout scanner now to access the menu needed later.
- You have the CONFIG sheet from PayTec digitally or physically at hand. You received this document from PayTec at the beginning of the contract. It contains the Customer password you need for the terminal.
1. Enter Customer password
- Enter the password on the PayTec payment terminal and confirm with OK. (You can find the Customer password on the CONFIG sheet you received from PayTec)
2. Open Settings
- Tap the gear icon (Settings) at the bottom right on the PayTec payment terminal.
3. Open Setup
- Then tap Setup at the top on the PayTec payment terminal.
4. Select Pairing Method
- Tap the blue button at the bottom left on the PayTec payment terminal and then select “Pairing via Cloud”.
- Then tap “Start”.

5. Enter Customer password again
- If necessary, enter the Customer password again on the PayTec payment terminal and confirm with OK.
6. Connection code is displayed
- A connection code is now displayed on the PayTec payment terminal.
7. Enter connection code on scango.ch checkout terminal
- Enter the displayed connection code in the appropriate field on the scango.ch checkout terminal and press “Activate Terminal”. Note the preparation (above at the beginning): you are already in the correct menu for this entry.
8. Exit menu on scango.ch checkout terminal
- Scan one of your products to exit this configuration menu.
- Test the connection by briefly initiating a purchase.
Something not working?
- Both devices are powered.
- All cables are correctly plugged in.
- The Internet connection is working (your modem, access via another device possible). Note: If your network has a firewall or Internet access is otherwise restricted, check if the checkout and payment terminal can be allowed into the network.
- Everything good so far?
- Send an email to support@scango.ch
- Describe as precisely as possible what is not working and send pictures if possible. Only exact error descriptions can be processed efficiently.
- Keep the devices powered and connected to the Internet to allow remote maintenance access.
